IPTV Setup Guide for Amazon Fire TV Devices

How to get a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV device ready for an IPTV player app, including updates, storage, network checks and sign-in.

Amazon Fire TV devices, including Fire TV Sticks, are popular because they are small, affordable and simple to use. Older generations can be slow, so it is worth confirming your model before you subscribe.

Identify your device

Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then About. Note the device name, the generation if shown and the software version. Send these to us on WhatsApp so we can confirm fit. See our compatible devices page for the general picture.

Update the software

In the same About menu, check for system updates and install any that are waiting. Restart the device when it finishes.

Free storage

Fire TV devices often have limited space. Open Settings, then Applications, then Manage Installed Applications and remove apps you no longer use.

Check your connection

Place the stick where the signal is good, and avoid pushing it tightly behind the television where it can overheat or lose signal. An Ethernet adapter can help if your model supports it. Test your speed before you start.

Install the player app

Where possible, install the app from the Amazon Appstore. If your model needs a different method, support explains the steps before you begin, so you are not guessing.

Sign in and test

After you subscribe, we send your sign-in details on WhatsApp. Enter them carefully and test playback for a while, including at your busiest viewing times. If you hit problems, use our troubleshooting guide.
